SentinelTag is operated by Marc Busby (trading as SentinelTag)("we", "us"). The service provides a platform for storing and sharing emergency profile information via NFC tags and QR codes to support the safeguarding of vulnerable children and adults.

These Terms govern your use of the SentinelTag mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). They are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You may create a profile for a child or vulnerable adult in your care, provided you are their parent, legal guardian, or have appropriate authority to act on their behalf.
• You may use the Service on behalf of an organisation (school, care home, NHS trust, etc.) if you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must not share your account with others or allow others to access it.
• You must notify us immediately at legal@sentineltag.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
• New accounts require activation before accessing tag data. Activation uses credits (1 credit = 30 days of access). Credits are non-transferable between accounts.

You are responsible for the accuracy, appropriateness, and lawfulness of all data you enter into a profile. Specifically:

• Children (under 13): by creating a profile for a child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian and consent to the processing of their personal and health data on the SentinelTag platform.
• Adults with reduced capacity: by creating a profile for an adult who cannot consent for themselves, you confirm you have the legal authority to do so (e.g. lasting power of attorney, deputyship, or professional duty of care).
• Health data: only include medical information that is necessary and accurate. Keep profiles up to date — outdated information could cause harm.
• Authorised responders: only grant access to individuals or groups who have a genuine need to see the information. You are responsible for managing and revoking access when it is no longer appropriate.

The public emergency number feature lets you write an emergency phone number and display name to the tag so that a finder can get help quickly. This information is stored on the NFC tag itself as plain, unencrypted text. By enabling this feature you understand and accept that:

• The number and name can be read by anyone who physically holds the tag and has an NFC-capable smartphone or reader — not only registered SentinelTag users, and without signing in to the app. In practice, you should treat this information as public.
• You have the consent of the person whose number and name you are publishing (or the authority to give it on their behalf).
• You accept sole responsibility for the decision to make this information public.

You must not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any person's rights.
• Enter false, misleading, or fabricated personal or health information.
• Attempt to access profiles you are not authorised to view.
• Reverse-engineer, copy, or create derivative works of the Service.
• Use the Service to harass, track, or monitor any individual without their knowledge.
• Attempt to circumvent the security controls of the Service.
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules, with or without notice.

Incident reports and photographs

When you scan a tag you may attach a note and, optionally, a photograph to that scan to create a safeguarding record. You must only capture information that a responder genuinely needs for the welfare or safety of the person, and you must collect the minimum necessary for that purpose. Do not photograph bystanders or uninvolved third parties, and do not capture more of a person, an injury, or a scene than is necessary. Incident reports are visible to the profile owner and to SentinelTag administrators and form part of the tag's audit trail. Photographs are stored securely and are permanently deleted when the associated tag or account is deleted. You must not use this feature to harass, surveil, or record any person for any purpose other than the safeguarding of the profile subject. Misuse may result in suspension of your access and, where appropriate, referral to the relevant authorities.

• Credits are purchased via Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms of service.
• Credits do not expire and can be used to activate any account within the Service.
• Unused credits may be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Contact legal@sentineltag.com with your purchase details.
• Subscription credits are topped up each billing cycle. Cancellation stops future top-ups.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

SentinelTag is a tool to assist with safeguarding — it is not a replacement for professional emergency services. In an emergency, always call 999.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Any harm resulting from inaccurate or out-of-date information in a profile.
• Any failure to access a profile due to loss of connectivity, device failure, or service outage.
• Any misuse of profile information by a person to whom you granted access.
• Any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss or damage.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

The SentinelTag name, logo, application, and website are the intellectual property of Marc Busby (trading as SentinelTag). You may not use them without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of all personal data and content you enter into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process and store that content solely to provide the Service to you.

Your use of SentinelTag is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

You may delete your account at any time via the app or by contacting us. We will delete your data within 30 days of account closure, subject to legal retention requirements (see Privacy Policy section 7).

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we cease to operate the Service. We will give reasonable notice where possible.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
